IP and Transmission Services

Our data centers are fully carrier-neutral, giving customers the freedom to choose from a wide range of fiber, transmission, and IP service providers. This flexibility allows organizations to select the connectivity solutions that best match their technical, commercial, and operational requirements.

In addition, Portus operates its own nationwide backbone network, interconnecting all of our data center locations as well as major internet exchange hubs in Frankfurt and Amsterdam. Through this infrastructure, we provide a comprehensive portfolio of connectivity services, including IP transit, dedicated internet access, Layer 2 transport between connected sites, DDoS protection and mitigation, and direct cloud connectivity to all major cloud platforms.

For customers seeking maximum independence and long-term flexibility, we can assist with obtaining and managing their own IPv4 and IPv6 address resources and Autonomous System Numbers (ASNs). We also provide the technical expertise and infrastructure required to establish carrier-independent network connectivity, ensuring full control over network architecture and provider relationships.

To connect corporate headquarters, branch offices, or remote locations to our facilities, we offer a variety of secure and reliable connectivity solutions. These services enable seamless data transport between customer premises and our data centers, creating a unified and highly available IT environment. This is especially important for customers who would like to reduce IT data rooms in their facilities and move equipment to a secure data center site.

Whether your priority is performance, resilience, scalability, security, or provider independence, our connectivity solutions are designed to support your business today and adapt to its future growth.

Portus delivers IP access services to the customer colocation area providing the customer with IPv4 and IPv6 addresses. Port speeds typically range from 1 Gbit/s to 100 Gbit/s delivered to the rack using optical transmission

Portus delivered IP transit services to the customer colocation area providing IPv4 and IPv6 transit networks. The customer is required to announce their IPv4 and IPv6 address assignments/allocations using BGP4. As our data centers are fully carrier-neutral sites, the customer may of course support their network by multi-homing with other IP carriers on site for redundancy reasons

Our IP uplink and transit services can be configured with an optional Anti-DDoS washing service. In case of an attack, traffic can be re-routed to a classification and filter service and only the clean traffic gets passed on to the customer’s IP port
L2 Ethernet and Wave services to provide transport between Portus Data Centers sites. This allows for resilient customer setups for High Availability or Backup strategies. Even smaller transport services are available e.g. for firewall heartbeat interconnections across Portus Data Centers. Services can be deployed as VLL (End-to-End) or VPLS (Many-to-Many).
Connect to all major cloud operators directly from the Portus data centers without the need of establishing a VPN connection. This enables customers to establish resilient links from their equipment into their private clouds with almost any cloud operator
Portus assist our customers in aquiring blocks of IP addresses. These or IP addresses the customer already owns can be routed via the Portus IP backbone. Portus offer to assist with the required paper work regarding the RIPE NCC contractual requirements. This also includes assignments of Autonomous System Numbers (ASN) for the customer to use BGP4 routing.
