Portus Data Centers’ new rack configurator makes colocation simple, fast and transparent
Customers can now digitally plan, configure and order rack solutions online at all Portus facilities in Hamburg, Luxembourg and Munich
Munich, October 13, 2026 – Portus Data Centers (“Portus”), a rapidly growing provider of carrier-neutral colocation solutions in regional markets, now offers an interactive online configurator for standardized rack solutions. Customers can independently plan their rack solution, try out different options, coordinate the configuration internally and then submit an inquiry directly. The entire process follows the principle of Choose, Configure, Order.
This makes Portus colocation simpler, more transparent and faster to access. In German or English, customers can select the appropriate location, various rack widths and rack units and combine them into a customized solution. Available standard capacities are clearly displayed.
Power supply, pre-wiring, patch panels, cable management and other components can be configured via an interactive 3D view. The rack unit matrix enables precise component placement on the front and back of the rack. Technical catalog rules automatically validate the configuration, while utilization, setup costs and monthly expenses are displayed transparently.
The application is particularly well-suited for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), startups, IT service providers, system integrators and managed service providers with a need for individual racks or minor expansions. The configurator also offers a simple entry point into the planning process for companies requiring infrastructure for AI inference – that is, for using pre-trained AI models.
Portus’ rack configurator gives customers greater freedom and control when planning their infrastructure. They can assemble their solution independently, compare different options and save the configuration using a unique three-word code or recall it later. Once completed, an inquiry is submitted to sales via a form.
“With the rack configurator, we are making standardized rack solutions available to customers quickly, transparently and easily. This creates a tangible advantage for companies with short-term or smaller needs and simultaneously strengthens our strategy to build the most trusted and best-connected platform for secure and scalable digital infrastructure in Central Europe. Portus should be the first choice for customers – and grow wherever our customers have a need,” says Falk Weinreich, CEO of Portus Data Centers.
The configurator connects specific demand with suitable solutions more quickly and thus supports Portus’ growth strategy. In the next phase of development, the portal will be expanded to include additional services such as internet access, uplinks and other connectivity offerings.
Portus Data Centers strategically expands its capacity
The company is continuously developing its regional, highly networked data center locations. The Luxembourg data center has been expanded by an additional 1 megawatt of capacity, which is already available for booking. In Munich, MUC2, another facility with 5.5 megawatts of IT power, is under construction, bringing the site’s total capacity to 7 MW. In Hamburg, Portus Data Centers is developing a new facility with up to 12.8 megawatts of IT capacity.
